Accomplice to the Villain

Only one employee has ever had the nerve to serve the Villain a cup of coffee. Her. Evie Sage is a relentlessly optimistic, terminally clumsy, and seemingly ordinary coffee-slinger…who also happens to be the only person the Villain has ever hired twice. He’s the kingdom’s most infamously destructive public enemy, and he’s hired her to be his new assistant. Her friends—and wanted posters—warn her he’s a monster, but no matter how many times he tries to blow her up or set her on fire, she can’t seem to stay away. And the more time she spends with him, the more she starts to see that maybe he’s not the monster everyone says. But when the kingdom’s soldiers begin hunting her, and her bloody past catches up with her, Evie has to decide if it’s safer to stay with the Villain who’s always setting her skirts on fire, or to leave behind the first person who’s ever looked at her like she’s the one setting the world ablaze.
