More Than My Hometown

It was an innocent childhood pact-if we're not married by thirty-four, we marry each other. Made back when we were inseparable, and our thirties seemed old.

That was until life-and my harsh words-tore us apart.

Maisey wanted to see the world. I chose our sleepy hometown over her. Something I regret every day.

Now she's back.

She hasn't forgotten about our pact like I thought she had. In fact, she's looking to collect.

Except it's not that easy. Too much time has passed since we made that pact. We aren't the inseparable friends we once were.

Still, I can't stop thinking about what might be. Maisey isn't giving up that easily either.
